7 days grounded is BACK!
One of the (few, admittedly) good things to come out of 2020, last summer Grounded Challenges was born, when we ran a week of online challenges and activities, provoking you to interact with the outdoors in a bit more of a creative way. Whether you have a lush garden or live in a tiny flat, have a bunch of spare time or want to quickly do something fun and creative, the idea remains the same: there’s a Grounded challenge for you.
You can check out last year’s set of challenges over on our Instagram.
The Build Up
This year, we’re going bigger and better, in the only way we know how… youth involvement!
Throughout the spring, we’ll recruit five young Peterborough artists to each design a social media challenge. The artists chosen will be as unconventional, forward-thinking, or new to the art world as they like. In fact, the more unconventional the better.
Then, in May (17-21 and 24-26) the participants recruited by The Prince’s Trust will take part in a Get Started in Content Creation Course, taking on the challenges set by the young artists. The participants will learn key skills to be content creators, including social media marketing, photography, and videography. No cheeky ‘work’ trips to Dubai though sadly. The course will culminate with a fabulous celebration day. Crack out the metaphorical sparklers.
Then it’s time for the main event: 31 May-6 June the #7daysgrounded campaign goes live.
During this week, our socials will be filled with the Get Started participants’ work, the young artists setting their Grounded challenges, and Common Ground encouraging our followers and beyond to take part.
