What is 7 Days Grounded?
One of the (few, admittedly) good things to come out of 2020 is that our project Grounded Challenges was born. Last summer we ran a week of online challenges and activities, provoking you to interact with the outdoors in a bit more of a creative way. Whether you have a lush garden or live in a tiny flat, have a bunch of spare time or want to quickly do something fun and creative, the idea remains the same: there’s a Grounded challenge for you.
You can check out last year’s set of challenges over on our Instagram.
The Build Up
This year, we went bigger and better, in the only way we know how… getting young creatives involved!
We collaborated with creatives aged 18-25 to design our social media challenges – we were so lucky to work with five creatives all from different artforms, from macramé to spoken word, who are all great at sharing what they do on social media.
Then, in May (17-21 and 24-26), local young people had the chance to take part in a Get Started in Content Creation Course run by The Prince’s Trust, taking on the challenges set by the young artists. Participants learnt key skills to be content creators, including social media marketing, photography, and videography. No cheeky ‘work’ trips to Dubai though sadly.
Then it was time for the main event: 31 May-6 June the #7daysgrounded campaign went LIVE.
During this week, our socials were filled with all your work, the young artists setting their Grounded challenges, and Common Ground encouraging our followers and beyond to take part.
If you missed out on #7DaysGrounded this time around, do not fear! You can find all the challenges, tutorials and some of our fave contribution up on our instagram account @nnfcommonground (who you should def be following, by the way.)
